Project Overview

Antler Addiction is a live, revenue-generating e-commerce business I co-founded in 2021 and continue to operate. We have made over 1000 sales to customers on 4 continents while maintaining a 5.0 star customer rating. I am responsible for the storefront's technical architecture & frontend development, alongside numerous other parts of the business.

Storefront Homepage

I developed 100+ line JSON Context Profiles to drive true-to-life AI image generation for some of the most important photos on the site, including on the homepage. This greatly improved view time and customer conversion rate.

Other Technical Work

Theme Engineering & Debugging
Overrode Shopify Dawn theme defaults without modifying core files. Managed CSS specificity and transforms to prevent UI regressions across browsers.
Liquid Email Templates
Wrote custom Liquid-based email templates for customer communication and marketing campaigns. Ensured consistent branding and reliable rendering across email clients.
Version Control & Deployment
Integrated Shopify theme development with GitHub-based version control. Managed local development workflow and safe production deployments using Shopify CLI tools.
Performance & UX
Audited and optimized large media assets and frontend performance. Refactored layouts into reusable components to reduce code duplication. Iteratively improved UX based on real customer behavior.

Challenges & Lessons Learned

Building and operating Antler Addiction alongside a full Computer Science course load taught me a lot, and pushed me to apply technical skills in a production environment with real implications. I learned how even small software decisions affect performance, usability, and business outcomes. On top of this, this venture has given me countless opportunities to learn and imrpove my ability to communicate professionally, manage evolving requirements and duties, and maintain a sense of urgency and vision over long timelines.
